Sterilization of Ergo Mouthpieces
Ergo mouthpieces are compatible with autoclave sterilization. To extend their lifespan, a wrapped steam cycle at 121°C (250°F) is recommended. They can also be sterilized at 135°C (273°F), but this will accelerate wear and deterioration.

Mouthpieces must be sterilized before first use and between each patient. Over time, they may become yellowed; this change is purely cosmetic and does not affect their performance or safety. It is recommended to replace the mouthpieces after approximately 25 sterilization cycles or at the first sign of damage.

Disinfection of Other Components
The other parts, including the U Connex, are considered non-critical instruments, meaning they do not come into direct contact with mucous membranes but may become contaminated with blood or bodily fluids. These components must be cleaned and disinfected after each use but should not be sterilized.
